I am an innovative educator with a passion for using research-based instructional approaches to facilitate learning within the classroom environment. I foster growth in both a virtual and physical classroom with technology integration, hands-on learning, and readily integrate content to maximize real-world context and in line with current pedagogical practices.I have served as a teacher leader in partnership with multiple county-led grant programs with an emphasis in STEM and curriculum design with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). My expertise in science and mathematics instruction and technology integration has made me a leader in education within the community.I have developed a sense of leadership through my partnership in the greater education community. I have worked as a founding Freckle A-Team member which has allowed me to collaborate with educators and partner with other members to share innovative ways we are using technology in the classroom. Through my work with Freckle, I have presented for several virtual events and shared my expertise as a keynote speaker. Additionally, I have been a Class Dojo Ambassador, where I have presented about my use of the program in a virtual event in 2020.I am passionate about connecting teachers and understand the importance of community in success. I am one of the co-founders of an annual event, Teacher Take Meetups, that connects teachers with others in the profession. As a founder of this event, I worked to organize, market, solicit donations and promote this networking event which had 100 educators attend each year. These events were successful and in high-demand, as we hosted events from 2016-2020.I am an independent self-starter, detailed oriented, and a committed life-long learner. I have a vested interest in education and am comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. I approach all challenges with a growth-mindset approach, and seek a collaborative environment where I can continue to grow and support the greater education community.
