As a graduate student working with Dr. Walter Chapman at Rice University, I have a strong background in mathematics, thermodynamics and interfacial phenomena. The tools I use to solve real-world problems include but not limited to Statistical Association Fluid Theory(SAFT), molecular simulations and Classical Density Functional Theory. The projects I have been working or worked on are listed:1. Phase behavior of surfactant system with Density Functional Theory(iSAFT), i.e. related middle-phase microemulsion with surface torque density, extended iSAFT to model spherical micelles and critical micelle concentration for nonionic surfactant.2. Synergism between Betaine and Anionic Surfactant (AOS14-16 and IOS15-18) and its contribution to foam stability in foam enhanced oil recovery process using Molecular Dynamics simulation. Collaboration with experimentalists.3. Wettability alteration of Calcite surface.3. Phase behavior of patchy colloid under confinement. Configurational Biased Monte Carlo Simulation.4. Phase behavior of alcohol containing mixtures. Provided data from Molecular Dynamics simulation to help determine Polar PC-SAFT parameters. 5. Surface freezing of long-alkane at alkane/air interface. Related interfacial tension with change of melting point.6. Added electrostatic contribution to iSAFT model, being able to model simple ion and polyelectrolyte close to a charged surface.
