Coding Instructor And Stem Advocate For Girls
CurrentAs a coding instructor in Technovation Girls+ Israel, I lead an afterschool program at the Mikve Israel Youth Village boarding school designed to introduce girls from underprivileged backgrounds to the world of technology and STEM. Utilizing MIT App Inventor, I teach coding fundamentals, app development and problem-solving skills. The goal of the program is to inspire and empower young girls traditionally underrepresented in Math and Engineering to pursue careers in STEM. In addition to classroom instruction, I guide students in participating in Technovation's annual international app design competition, where they have an opportunity to to showcase creativity and technical skills by collaborating as a team and designing an app that addresses and solves a problem faced by women and girls. I aid the girls in the coding and technological aspects of the app, in addition to designing a business plan and pitch.
