Personal Assistant to Dr. A. Jay Burns. When Dr. Burns made adjustments within his practice related to staff and office location, I was offered the position of front office manager at EpiCentre Med Spa of which Dr. Burns was Medical Director. My Director of Operations was Nina Spadaccino.

Dhwi Family Health Center

My hire date with HTPN was September 2004, and this practice was the second specialty that I managed within the organization. (Family Practice) Community Clinic.

Level Ii Help Desk Support

Between practice management roles within HTPN, I accepted this position to expand my knowledge of Centricity EMR and train employees about it’s practical application for staff and providers. I enjoyed the problem solving and training role opportunity.

Park Lane Ob/Gyn Clinic

Practice Operations Manager along with practice startup. We experienced start up within a shared space in another physician’s office that he had built out for an oncoming physician to his practice. We were in residence for 5 weeks, moved to another location on Worth Street for 1 year while waiting for the completion of our permanent location at Park Lane. We moved into our permanent location at Park Lane November 2005. This start up and these moves occurred while I was managing daily operations and hiring staff to support 2 physicians and an ultrasound technician.

Modern Dermatology

Assumed start up responsibilities along with daily operations management including staff hiring and management consecutively with operations management of OB/GYN practice during hiring process of permanent operations manager for Modern Dermatology.

Deborah Fuller, Md

Met with patients to provide quotes for surgery and delivery of babies. Collected all payments related to these quotes. Scheduled all surgeries and cesarean sections. Maintained delivery and surgery schedules. Performed all insurance precertifications. Completed all FMLA and disability forms including all research with patients and correlating physicians for Dr. Fuller and all support mid-level providers. Composed all patient work letters for all providers.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Served as provider/insurance company liaison related to revenue cycle issues and credentialing. I addressed issues such as insurance claim denials, payer contract disputes, and timely physician credentialing requirements. System Health Provider Network was the 501a for Genesis Physician Network. (Physician Practice Management)

Greenville, Texas

When hired I worked all aspects of front office, including scheduling appointments, receiving patients, collecting payments, filing insurance claims, claims follow up. After approximately one year, the manager quit and I was offered that position and I accepted. While I was working at this office, ICD9 and CPT codes were introduced into practice. I became educated and implemented the use of this coding system into the daily operations and insurance claim filing. Surgical and Obstetrical pre-authorizations were also implemented as requirements by insurance companies while I was working at this office. Dr. Upatham also purchased the first computer for the practice which was utilized for revenue cycle activities including daily reporting. My first experience with a fax machine also occurred with this practice. Many technological firsts happened here! It was a wonderful learning experience.
