Safer is Cal Poly's confidential crisis support and prevention education resource for gender- and power-based violence. As the Panhellenic Outreach Lead for Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL), I work in the programming office at Safer. I collaborate with two other leads to develop and implement curriculum for all grade levels at Cal Poly. Curriculum is presented once per quarter to all FSL chapters at the school, in a dialogue format facilitated by the Outreach Leads. I also supervise a group of about 30 Violence Prevention Chairs (one member from each chapter), and facilitate meetings once a month to keep chapters updated and act as a liaison between FSL and Safer.

As the Violence Prevention Chair for Alpha Phi, I attend monthly meetings with other VPCs from the Fraternity and Sorority Life community. I brainstorm ways to make chapters more aware of sexual violence that occurs on our campus, and how we as students in Greek Life can work to prevent it. I give "consent talks" at every gathering between my sorority and another fraternity informing attendees of what consent looks like and how to practice it. I facilitate a quarterly dialogue within my chapter about sexual violence prevention. I provide my chapter with resources regarding the Safer program at Cal Poly.

Supervising teams of lifeguards. Maintaining safe beach/pool environments by performing hazard prevention.
