ESI is a collaborative program that connects ecologists with city planners, officials, and community members with goals of designing urban ecological experiments to meet specific community needs.I was part of a team tasked with designing an ecological infrastructure project in a neighborhood with several non-contiguous vacant lots that previously had houses bought out and demolished by FEMA after a massive flood event. We incorporated community input and designed a plan that redeveloped the space to meet human needs, be resilient to future flooding, and generate urban ecological knowledge.

Developed and delivered outdoor education programs in all weather conditions that met MN K-12 academic standards to elementary school students. Assisted in event coordination for biannual family-oriented festivals and volunteer appreciation dinner.Coordinated educational programs for families with preschool aged-children including a monthly luncheon for Spanish speaking families. This included budget management and cooperation with local partners.
