Profile bio

About Leah Daniel

Hello! My name is Leah and I am currently in my 4th year of 5 in the Materials and Biomedical Engineering (iBioMed) program at McMaster. My interest in science and engineering comes from the desire to use STEM as a tool for building a future that is equitable for all. I am passionate about mentorship, community engagement, and making education a safe and empowering environment. I am a Shad Canada and FIRST Robotics alum, which has driven me to continue with this spirit of engagement.I have had both wet lab and dry lab experience — the former in a Virology Research Lab, where I completed PCR testing and other tasks, and the latter in a self-initiated research project involving improving EEG outcomes via simulations & machine learning for people of diverse hair types. I am eager to begin working in the biomedical R&D space, as I feel it aligns with my personal and professional goals. I am currently in search of a Winter 2025 or Spring 2025 (4-8 months) Co-op. Feel free to reach out! :)
