Intern
I began my internship with the United States Senate Sergeant at Arms organizing the filing system. After an unexpected change within the department and my quick ability to learn new tasks, I was given the responsibilities of an administrative assistant. My duties included answering phone calls and responding to emails from customers, who were Senate staff, completing BlackBerry order requests through a unique asset system, and creating procedure documents. Once a permanent staff member was hired, I trained her to take over my duties. Although second internships don't typically happen, my supervisor put in a special request to have me again the following summer. It was during this internship I began developing the skills necessary to work with high profile customers.
