As part of the R&D team I'm conducting research in the field of digital identity Making use of image processing techniques using Python, OpenCV and other libraries. Implementing and training machine learning and deep learning models using scikit-learn and Pytorch. Applications include: image quality checks on input images (face, document) to provide feedback to the user upon capture; face recognition; identity document onboarding. Assisting in coordinating projects within the team, drawing up potential plans for upcoming tasks, holding task specific meetings as required and managing tasks through JIRA project boards. In addition to this, as an MLOps team lead, I guide a team of junior machine learning engineers to implement MLOps practices. As a first milestone, the team took up models dveloped by the R&D team and served them as an internal API endpoint using Seldon Core. This provided easier utilisation of models within other experiments conducted by R&D peers. The team regularly helps with conducting evaluations of models and pipelines within the R&D team. This role involves team supervision, code reviews, planning for upcoming tasks on the JIRA project board, 1-1 mentoring sessions.

Mechatronics, Robotics and Operations group in the Engineering Department.Working as a PhD researcher in the field of computer vision and robotics. The area of study focused on inspection automation in tunnel environments using different sensor data such as visible light images, videos and thermal imagery. I've made use of C++ and Python programming languages, OpenCV library and other frameworks such as Keras and Tensorflow for deep learning to implement state of the art techniques in image processing, temporal change identification, machine learning for object detection and sensor/data fusion to create a software application around tunnel inspection. I was also responsible for the design of the involved hardware system. In this role, I've been involved also in other minor side projects involving computer vision for object detection and classification.
