About Leanne Attard
Leanne Attard is currently a Senior Vice President of Research and Development. She is researching and applying computer vision and machine learning techniques to take advantage of different features for alternative biometrics towardsa secure and trusted identity. She was recently a Project Associate within the Robotics team of the Engineering Department at CERN while completing her doctorate with the University of Malta. Her research interests are computer vision and image processing applications and machine learning. Earlier she has completed an undergraduate course in Electrical Engineering at the University of Malta qualifying in 2010. Following this, she developed her research and engineering skills and gained experience in different programming languages, through different employment opportunities during which she worked as a software engineer both locally in Malta as well as in Germany. She also familiarized herself with different stages of the software cycle comprising planning, development and testing developing strategy planning, problem solving and testing skills. In 2017, she completed a Master of Science Degree by Research on a collaboration project with CERN, specialising in Communications and Computer Engineering focusing on Computer Vision.
