After studying and travelling I was fortunate enough to obtain a training contract with Watson Esam and specialise in my chosen area of Family Law. I now have over 15 years experience dealing with a whole range of issues arising when people separate. I specialise now in settlement of finance matters when people divorce. I am a member of Resolution and always try to approach cases in a non-confrontational manner wherever this is possible. I understand that family life is the most important thing to people and when it falls apart it can be devastating to deal with. I will always try to guide my clients through the legal process with understanding and diligence. My greatest professional achievement was successfully appealing a contact matter to the Court of Appeal. I represented a sister who wished to have contact with her two younger siblings. Despite a Cafcass recommendation that contact should be awarded the Circuit Judge ruled against us and so we appealed. I was pleased not only for my client but that the two younger children would grow up benefiting from having contact with a side of the family that would otherwise be lost. In July 2017 I began working for Sheffield's first niche family practice Acclaimed Family Law.
