I an currently in the first year of my Social Work degree course at the University of Stirling. I am also employed as a support worker, working with Key Community Supports in Glasgow. On completion of the course my ambition is to become a social worker, the areas of interest to me are children and families and community based social work practice. Stirling University has been awarded no.1 for Social Work education, I believe during this course I will gain vital core skills and an excellent knowledge base through the combination of study and work based placements in various areas of social work practice. Combining study and employment has enabled me to be well organised and focused, I have good time management, the ability to work well under pressure to meet expected deal lines. I am able to work both independently and as part of a team. I have excellent communications skills, I enjoy interaction and working with different people. I am hard working and reliable, I enjoy learning and new challenges.

  Provide direct support to individuals within their own homes to promote independent living.Develop personal care plans, adopting person centered approach working collaboratively with the individual, those in their circle of support and other professionals to ensure their needs are being meet. Support individuals to develop a support plan that is empowering in enabling them to achieve meaningful goals and promotes choice enabling them to achieve their lifestyle aspirations.Delivery of support on a 1-2-1 basis and to participate in the organisation and facilitation of group activities to support the individual to maintain relationships and to be part of their local community.Duties, delivery of various support based on the needs of the individual which may include personal care, general house work, food preparation, financial support and health and well being.Update care plans in an accurate professional manner. Monitor and update risk assessments. Work in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
