Led the Strategy and Performance Improvement of Standards Management in IHG globally. Supported IHG’s people to successfully guide and influence behaviours and decisions across the business to change IHG’s approach to delivering standards. Evolved the global team from a project focus to a legacy team including organisational re-design.Led the gap analysis of requirements, development of processes, delivery tools and competency development/training that integrate with IHG’s existing processes/tools and implemented solutions.Facilitated regional and global multi-functional teams to implement the newly designed approach to standards in their regions and facilitated the development of global brand standards to design, construct and maintain hotels.

Led a team of ten to provide the D&E role to both pipeline and existing hotels (approximately 120 hotels supported at any one time with a conservative construction value of $2.8billion, active in 21 countries within the wider MEA) in new build hotel, maintenance planning and implementing major refurbishments phases. Led master planning initiatives to existing hotels to establish redevelopment opportunities to optimise revenue generating opportunities. A number of these included recommendations to re-develop the sites to be mixed-use including residential, office and recreation facilities in addition to the traditional hotel, food and beverage and conference facilities. Led design advice to flagship hotels with both leading international and local consultants. Developed design briefs for all newly signed hotels and major refurbishments throughout the estate.

Developed feasibility studies for a variety of mixed use developments incorporating hotels, residential, golf courses, marinas, equestrian facilities and planned to include a 5-star hotel; retail; residential and international standard equestrian facilities. Locations included Ireland, Belize and Mozambique and totalled 9,400 acres with an estimated final value of $ 2.9 billion.Developed brand standards/guidelines for a boutique hotel brand for the UK market that focuses on taking existing properties and tailoring these buildings to suit the local market while establishing consistency in the USP for the brand as a whole. Worked with a potential JV partner who planned to roll out over 120 mixed-use developments throughout Saudi Arabia to develop a Sharia compliant hotel brand to operate all of the retail and hotel aspects of each property.

Project Director, and Client Representative, for the fit out of the Chelsea 3T 850-key, $82 million fit out of a five-star hotel in Dubai incorporating seven food and beverage outlets and coordinating all works and redesign within existing base building during construction. Project Director for the delivery of the 480 key, $42million Al Barsha Ibis Hotel and the $260million 47-storey three tower development incorporating retail plaza, office tower, apartment tower and 486-key Novotel Al Barsha hotel/hotel apartment tower. Project Director for the provision of 33 man-months of secondment services to the Dubai Mall Joint Venture contractor for structural engineering support and troubleshooting during construction. Design manager and in-country support to Beca’s Singapore-based design teams for four significant tower developments in Dubai, including construction specification development.

Project, design, consent and contract manager of the delivery of greenfield schools including overall project, design, consent, construction, stakeholder and contract management for the $70million 1600 student facilities. All projects were successfully delivered within strict budgets and agreed timeframes. Project, design, consent and contract manager for the construction of the B737 Class C Hot Fire Training Facility and upgrade of the concrete apron review and upgrade at the Pago Pago International Airport, American Samoa. Both of these projects were funded by the US Federal Aviation Authority and required all design and contracts to be in accordance with FAA regulations and US contracting methodology.
