I am a passionate leader and practitioner in the South Australian emergency management sector. I currently head up the SA Local Government Association Emergency Support Team, providing support, resources and development opportunities in emergency management across the local government sector.With 10 years at the SA State Emergency Service and 18 in the SA Country Fire Service I have gained extensive and diverse experience in volunteer and people management, building high-performing teams, emergency management and coordination, policy development, training delivery, facilitation and working with the media. As a lover of learning I achieved undergraduate qualifications in conservation and land management, I have a Master of Business Administration and Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management and a very broad range of professional skills and knowledge.I am known for my ability to grasp complex problems, engage with diverse stakeholder groups, think strategically and motivate teams in stressful situations. I am passionate about valuing the skills of each individual and bringing out the best in my team and about contributing to a safer and more equitable society.
