I completed my part-time Open University law degree with upper second class honours in December 2012, whilst working full-time in the procurement sector for a national convenience store chain. After a career change to the legal sector in 2013, I commenced employment with a firm in Hartlepool, working in family law and defending possession proceedings in relation to rent and mortgage arrears. I trained at a firm in Middlesbrough in family law before moving to the family department in a multiple practice in Darlington from 2018 until 2024. I obtained my Advocacy Certificate in Family Law and became a Chartered Legal Executive Advocate in 2023.I have experience of a broad range of family law matters and provide representation at Court, with a particular interest in publicly funded matters. I am keen to highlight that although there have been changes to the availability of Legal Aid, that public funding is still available in cases of child protection and for victims of domestic abuse. In addition to Care Proceedings, Social Services involvement, private law children, and domestic abuse cases, I also deal with divorce and financial matters. I understand that family clients are dealing with major changes to their home and family life and that they need to have faith in their legal representation who are leading them through a difficult time.
