I enjoyed a career break in Queenstown, New Zealand. I funded and planned the trip myself and supported myself during my stay by taking various temporary jobs including hostel worker, barmaid, senior hotel cleaner and larder chef.Whilst living there I was able to spend time skiing, see the most breath-taking scenery and meet some amazing people from all over the world.

I was employed by Morson Projects Ltd, based in the company offices on the Sellafield Site. A requirement for site access was to obtain P4 security clearance and later SC clearance. My main task was to assist a large team of Technical Authors in writing various safety-related documents for the site. This involved researching engineering systems, working with restricted files and information and performing a quality check of the draft documents. I was also responsible for ensuring that the documents complied with the Sellafield Site templates and for collating document production data for submission to the Configuration Controller.I was also trained in Project planning using Primavera P6, which involved inputting approximately 100 projects, including tasks, dates and personnel numbers to forward-plan the department workload and to identify workload shortfalls which was forwarded to the business development department.Other roles included:• Camera Permit Controller - ensuring that any cameras utilised during site surveys were registered and all photographic material monitored against site regulations• Timesheet Administrator - collating all timesheets and checking them for correct job number bookings and hours• QA Project File Administrator – checking all electronic directories against the company standard and ensuring that all forms were complete and had the appropriate signatures• Acting as receptionist outside core hours or in periods of sickness/leave. Seconded to the National Nuclear Laboratories (NNL) to work in the maintenance department. The role lasted for 18 months and involved inputting data and raising work orders, as well as researching previous purchases made by the company, which included contacting other companies to check records and to meet audit requirements.

Working approximately 30-40 hours/week, serving drinks and food to customers. I also helped with preparing the food and keeping a good standard of food hygiene. I waited on tables ensuring customers received the highest level of service. My duties as a Supervisor were to monitor staff punctuality and working hours and to ensure every job had been done, every customer had been served and the correct tables received their correct food orders. It was my duty as supervisor to make sure the kitchen and front of house communicated well with each other and that the orders were processed efficiently. I was also trusted with the opening and closing of the building at the beginning and end of each day. My responsibilities included cashing up the tills at the end of the night and taking the earnings to the bank.
