As vice president of grants, gifts, and compliance at Silicon Valley Community Foundation, I am responsible for the strategic direction of the department and am a member of SVCF’s leadership and operations teams. I work closely with staff across the community foundation as well as donors, fund advisors and grantees to design innovative philanthropic solutions, ensure that donor intent is achieved and that grant and gift transactions are timely, accurate and compliant with federal and state regulations. I also work with customized philanthropy services clients to design and operationalize their specific program requirements.I lead and manage a team of 25 which has oversight of and is responsible for all grant and gift transactions processed by SVCF. In 2016, the department administered nearly 15,000 gift and other revenue transactions and over 111,000 grants, including nearly 1,500 international grants, for SVCF and SVCF’s customized philanthropy services clients. The team also maintains SVCF's Global Charity database of about 1,100 international organizations in 85 countries.

I am responsible for leading and managing the gifts administration unit and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of incoming assets and revenue. My areas of responsibility include administering the procedures to process, record, track and acknowledge all gifts, receipts, special project funds and accounts receivable. In order to accomplish these tasks, I collaborate with all departments of the community foundation and donors to facilitate the efficient flow of information and to maintain the integrity of gift and receipt records.
