Project scope included: testing and evaluation of software capability, setup and configuration of antivirus e-mail gateway server, configuration of antivirus management and virus quarantine servers, distribution of antivirus client to servers and desktop computers.Test environment introduction/ implementation for the evaluation of new software packages. I isolated the test environment from production network by creating a Redhat Linux based router to utilize a different network segment.Configured and Installed Check Point 4.1 firewall. For testing purposes duplicated existing checkpoint firewall using Microsoft Routing and RAS. Used Microsoft Network Address Translation to successfully isolated web server and mail servers from public Internet.Provided a seamless transition from PSI ISP to UUNET ISP by rewriting existing DNS records and coordinating with ISP. Set up ISP failover procedures in the event of T1 failure.
