After extensive experience in the telecoms industry and having identified a lack of integration within the telephony offerings sector, I founded and funded a company offering a suite of telephony applications. We are an Alcatel-Lucent Certified Developer & Solutions Partner (DSPP) as well as an IOS and Android registered developer. Vurella now had distributors on four continents who offer our solutions via accredited local value added resellers, and I work closely with Alcatel-Lucent ensure these channels, be it local or international are well supported.

Amigo is a telephony software company that specialises in the development and supply of communication products to Alcatel-Lucent. Amigo was initially formed by myself and my previous colleagues as a sister company to Ghost Software to supply our telephony products with a brand name. I again defined my role based on my strengths and continued to oversee the company’s product development. However, my day to day duties primarily evolved into facing the organization when integrating with our closest Vendor (Alcatel-Lucent) and their vast network of resellers throughout the world.In 2015, having again been successful in playing a key role in building the software company, I felt I had taken organization as far as I could and chose to step down from my role to follow my own personal goals and to pursue some exciting opportunities which I could see on the horizon. After playing a key role in building Arc Solutions into to a worldwide successful organization, I decided it was time to further my career by starting a business with several previous colleagues that had also played a part in Arc Solutions success. The business was primarily aimed at providing white label software to telephony vendors such as Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, Avaya, NEC and Nortel. I defined my role based on my strengths, which are Software Analysis & Project Management. After spending some months building the development team in Asia, my focus changed to liaising between the Vendors and our development department to build software applications for worldwide distribution. During this time I often visited the team in order implement procedures and help build operations. In addition to this, my responsibilities also included maintaining technical documentation, user guides & training courses which I personally built to educate the relevant parties. Arc solutions primary business was to offer platform independent soft-telephony solutions, and it was at Arc that I truly defined my career path. I began Arc as a Software Engineer when there were no more than two employees working from a small back room. Over 9 years the company grew to over 50+ resources and as the company evolved, my position changed several times evolving from software engineer through to Senior Development Director. My responsibilities during this evolution included software analysis, product development, quality assurance, product documentation and project management. I like to think that this vast range of hands on experience has given me extensive knowledge and that that this can be transferred to any opportunity that I may take in the future. The success of the company was realised in 2000 when the products were accepted & championed by Cisco Systems. Oscar Software provided solutions that helped companies who offered calibration services to achieve ISO 9001 certification. During this period my responsibilities included software development, Quality Assurance and also assisting the documentation team in producing the appropriate installation & user guides. Flight Systems worked as a contracting company, developing and supporting Front Desk flight systems to check-in customers and book flights. Although predominantly developing in clipper to enhance and implement new system features, my role also included several additional responsibilities. These included repairing bugs that were reported via the support system or directly over the phone, and updating the product installation & user guides. Medidata provided software systems to dentists throughout the UK. The software, which was developed in clipper, offered a wide range of features including appointment booking, stock management and patient notes. I started Medidata on a trial placement directly from the ITECH Academy and my initial role was as a developer enhancing and implementing new system features.
