The role was to assess project delivery requirements and create a proposal for testing, including test phases, schedule, costs, resourcing, licencing and environmental requirements. Duties included management of the end to end delivery of testing for the customer, creation of the overall Testing Strategy, Testing Plans, leveraging onshore and offshore resources, and management of preparation and execution of all in scope test phases and identification and mitigation of risks/issues as appropriate.Main achievements included • Successfully delivered in scope testing for all assigned projects (10), ranging in team sizes from 3 to 20 heads with revenue amounts from £1m to £5m per delivery using Project Management principals.• Successfully transformed two legacy DWP benefit systems (CA and DLA) from an onshore to offshore delivery model providing considerable saving to the customer and improving the revenue margin for HP.

The role was to manage all aspects of testing for PAS.Main achievements included• Establishment of a simple repeatable testing process using industry standard approaches (risk based testing, Waterfall methodology), giving the testing team an easy to execute repeatable testing framework to deliver day to day services with.• Management of the testing related to a brand new bespoke customer billing tool, as well as standard COTS interfaces which the application would interact with. This was successfully tested and released to live delivering increased revenue by £7m. • Successfully managed the testing workload, engaging with the business representatives regularly to ensure priorities and focus areas are understood enabling the testing team to be correctly aligned to the current and future demand.• Creation of a process flow for the workflow system used by the customer services team, giving a comprehensive view of how the system routes based on the options taken throughout the lifecycle of an account. This was the first end to end mapping of the system completed, and it identified a number of defects with the routing resulting in fixes being implemented which enhanced the performance of the application and user experience.

The Debt Manager project was a huge £200m programme of change to deliver a brand new Calculation and Recovery system. A COTS package was procured from “London Bridge” which was then enhanced and tested in house to deliver the new Debt Manager application, the first release of this application happened in 2006. I was seconded from the business to utilise my end user knowledge of the current system to carry out user acceptance testing on the proposed application.Main achievements included• Assessed system design documentation, and then created and executed test cases and scripts. • Raised defects and passed to the Test Manager for assessment. • Attended daily defect calls to talk through new defects raised by myself.• Act as the Deputy Testing Manager in the absence of the Test Manager.
