Greetings! I am an associate professor in Comparative Politics at the School of Government and International Relations, Griffith University. I was previously a Discovery Early Career Research Award Fellow and I am currently a Discovery Award Fellow, both from the Australian Research Council. A regular contributor to national and international media outlets, my research focuses on the topics of authoritarian politics, democratization, dictators, election observation and Southeast Asian politics.In addition to my research activities, I serve as the Director of the Higher Degree by Research portfolio within the Griffith Business School. In this position (of Associate Dean), I work with the Griffith Graduate Research School, Heads of Department, Research Centre Directors, and HDR Convenors to implement the University’s higher degree research strategy and objectives.
