Educational Software Consultant
CurrentAs an Educational Software Consultant, I'm responsible for working closely with schools in order to ensure that our literacy software is implemented effectively and that students of all abilities can make accelerated progress. This starts from the very beginning by working closely with a school and key contact in order to establish literacy needs. Working collaboratively, I then provide thorough training to a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring that best practice is regularly shared. This results in a tailored experience for each school, using my own experience in education in order to ensure that staff are confidently able to analyse data whilst students are given the best possible opportunities to develop their literacy skills.Alongside this, I work closely with key contacts and deliver aftercare, considering ways to continue driving positive momentum and celebrate student and staff success.
Head Of Year / Teacher Of English
Alongside my early teaching experience which consisted of working in schools in the Durham area, I primarily spent 7 years working as an English Teacher, KS4 Coordinator and, ultimately, a Pastoral Lead at Kingsmeadow Community School. This was a rewarding and very challenging role.As part of my role, I was responsible for managing a group of 8 form tutors, helping ensure that key messages were relayed and that high expectations were driven across the school.Alongside this, I provided bespoke pastoral care to a number of vulnerable students, liaising with external parties in order to manage behaviour whilst also ensuring that children were safeguarded effectively. My love of technology was clear throughout my role as I led with the implementation of different software packages: one with regard to effective and innovative revision for GCSE students and another which was a whole school MIS system. I led on the overhaul of the existing behaviour management systems, delivering training to all staff and monitoring its implementation closely. My main role, though, was that of an English teacher. By sharing best practice, modelling high standards and focusing on the most effective ways for students to learn, I achieved outstanding results with a wide variety of students over the course of my career.
