I am passionate about landscape lighting. To many, “contrast” is an afterthought that has something to do with the relationship between the dark and light areas; using lighting without vision or purpose when creating a landscape lighting design. To me, controlling and manipulating contrast is the heart and soul of what I do. Contrast is the tool we use to transform a two dimensional image (height and width) into one that has a third dimension — one that manifests depth, shape and texture. It is the magic wand that takes us to a new paradigm in lighting design, carefully placed and controlled. With strategic planning and an artistic eye, lights can transform a flat, two-dimensional image into one that jumps off a given structure; creating the warm, inviting and secure space we call home.
