Investigate crimes that took place within the city of Savage or that had a nexus to the city of Savage. This was both from calls for service that patrol received as well asself-initiated investigations from information gathered from patrol and citizens.Worked all crimes that were sent to investigations including frauds, thefts, embezzlements, child pornography, assaults, sexual assaults, robbery, burglary, homicide, and many others.Conducted in depth interviews with victims and witnesses. This involved anything from interviewing and collecting information from a victim on a financial fraud incident, to interviewing victims of sexual assault and witnesses to murder.Conducted interviews with suspects for misdemeanor and felony level crimes.Wrote search warrants for many things, including banking records, phone records, GPS phone pings, DNA, IP address information, and residential search warrants. Conducted surveillance to gather information. Acted as case agent for any residential search warrant that was my case, building an operational plan, assigning team members todifferent duties during the entry and clearance of the building, and collecting and logging evidence.Worked directly with an analyst to process any phone extractions to locate evidence for cases. Testified in both state and federal court on a variety of cases. Attended many trainings on investigations, fraud, crime scene processing, and others.

Completed initial investigation on felony level crimes before turning over toinvestigations division. Issued citations and arrested suspects. Conducted on sceneinterviews of victims of crimes as well as interviews and interrogations of suspects onscene.Participated as a part of the Predatory Offender Registration team. Thisteam completed bi-annual checks of all predatory offenders within citylimits, confirming that the offenders are updated and compliant on allthat is required of them. Assisted in updating offenders’ information tomaintain compliance with state statute. Conducted investigations onnon-compliant offenders and forwarded reports to the County Attorneyfor prosecution.Worked on the Drug Court team. This team built relationships with drugcourt probationers within the city of Savage. The program not onlymade sure the probationers were following the rules as outlined by drugcourt, but also created relationships between the Police and offendersto give them a first point of contact and another support structure if it isneeded in their recovery process.Worked as a Use of Force instructor for the City of Savage. This includeddefensive tactics, room clearance, and less lethal equipment andmunitions. Attended both the Minnesota Sheriff’s Association Use ofForce instructor school and the instructor course for Gracie SurvivalTactics Level 1.

Worked on an-call basis for both the Districts of South Dakota and Minnesota, transporting federal inmates throughout the District, taking federal inmates to court hearings, and providing judicial security during those hearings.Performed overnight security details when inmates were admitted to the hospital, staying with the inmate through any surgeries and recovery.

Special Deputy US Marshal for the USMS Black Hills Fugitive Task Force. While working as a US Marshal I worked warrant apprehension in the Black Hills area and Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. This included both federal arrest warrants and state arrest warrants that were adopted by the United States Marshal Service. During this time, I attended trainings in basic and advanced SWAT including force on force, high risk warrant service, flashbang usage, and hostage rescue.

Sturgis, South Dakota, United States

Completed initial investigation on felony level crimes before turning over to investigations division. Issued citations and arrested suspects. Conducted on scene interviews of victims of crimes as well as interviews and interrogations of suspects on scene.Supervised and operated the community service program as the Community Services Coordinator. Worked directly with probation, court services, and local businesses to place community services workers where they were needed most. Supervised workers during the completion of their hours and reported those hours to the courts.Held instructor certifications for defensive tactics, emergency vehicle operations, and police motorcycle operations. Ran and completed training classes for officers from Sturgis and neighboring departments for defensive tactics, police vehicle operation, and police motorcycle operation. Built all budgets and training programs for the department for these three areas. Assisted field training reserve officers as well asnew officers on the department.Worked directly with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. These duties included performing undercover intelligence gathering with the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs and narcotics investigations while working directly with Homeland Security Investigations and the US Marshal Service, serving warrants with State DCI and the US Marshal Service, and assisting local law enforcement with investigations.

Pierre, South Dakota, United States
