I serve as a Managing Partner and as General Counsel for Kaizen Development Partners. Prior to forming Kaizen Development Partners with the former executive team of Neal Richards Group, I was a Partner in the Real Estate practice group of Jackson Walker L.L.P., and my practice was primarily devoted to representing individual and institutional investors and developers in complex real estate matters, including:Acquisition/sales (including purchase and sale agreements, title and survey review and brokerage commission agreements and disputes);Leasing (including the representation of landowners, developers and tenants in drafting, negotiating, structuring and reviewing all types of space leases, long-term ground leases and other commercial leases);Partnerships and other forms of equity participations and development vehicles;Development (including zoning, platting, CC&Rs, reciprocal easement agreements, air rights agreements, construction contracts, architectural contracts, development agreements and hazardous materials review and counseling);Operations (including management agreements, service agreements and landlord/tenant disputes); andFinancing (including loan commitments, mortgage documentation and tri-party and buy/sell agreements).Specialties: I am experienced in all types of real estate projects, including work with health care assets, high rise office buildings (both downtown and suburban), retail projects, condominium development, multi-family residential apartments, office/warehouse (multi- and single tenant), industrial sites and raw land.
