The Chung Laboratory focuses on engineering biomaterials and nanoparticles for kidney disease drug delivery.

- Part of a 30-student cohort that examined medical procedures, skills, and health anatomy taught by Stanford clinical professors Dr. Eva Weinlander and Dr. Sarita Khemani.- Attended physician-led lectures on primary care and the various specialties within medicine.- Created and presented a final study on ulcerative colitis detailing lab testing procedures and treatment options.

- Investigated the connection between novel TDP-43 protein mutants and their impact on the formation of amyloid-beta fibrils in relation to Alzheimer’s Disease and protein aggregation.- Utilized ThT assays, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, SEC, and FPLC while operating centrifuges, large-scale filtration devices, and assay instrumentation to collect data and analyzed results in GraphPad Prism Software.- Demonstrated that biotin amyloid-beta interacts with 8 known TDP-43 mutants in a dose-dependent manner, correlating TDP-43 to the progression of Alzheimer's.- Presented my findings at the Genomics Research Center lab conference.

- Explored anti-diabetic drugs and their biochemical effects on amyloid-beta plaques in an Alzheimer’s Disease model.- Ran wet lab procedures such as MTT assays, caspase-3 assays, and cell attachment assays with molecular docking.- My results found 10 molecular interaction sites between amyloid-beta and the treatment molecules, showed that the drugs improved cell survival rates by up to 20%, and decreased amyloid-beta proliferation by 95%.- Presented my findings at the annual Association of Chinese-American Physicians conference.
