As the Director of Public Safety at the City of Pittsburgh, I oversee the administration and coordination of all public safety functions and services, including police, fire, emergency medical, animal control, and emergency management. I have been in this role since Feb 2022, after serving as the Assistant Director of Operations and Administration for the same department for two years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from Point Park University and a PA DOH Paramedic certification.With more than five years of experience in public safety management and leadership, I have developed and implemented policies, procedures, and strategies to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability of the public safety operations and personnel. I have also supported departmental special projects, such as the COVID-19 response, the community engagement program, and the public safety training academy. My core competencies include emergency management, emergency medical services, police administration, budgeting, contracting, human resources, and training. My mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents, visitors, and businesses of Pittsburgh, and to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the public safety department.
