Over 35 years experience in trademark and related areas of intellectual property, advising, counseling and representing diverse domestic and international clients, including individuals and sole proprietorships, start-ups, small to large-sized corporations, and entertainment personalities. Successfully secured more than 1,000 U.S. and foreign trademark registrations. Counsels and advises clients on legal issues concerning intellectual property, including advising on commercial relationships and business strategies for protection of intellectual property assets, designing and implementing intellectual property policies, including: selecting and adopting trademarks, evaluating the availability of new marks for use and registration and providing clearance opinions and recommendations; analyzing trademark use investigations, and advising strategies regarding same; conducting trademark audits and due diligence investigations; developing strategies for acquiring and maintaining trademark rights; managing domestic and international trademark portfolios; and structuring and drafting license agreements, assignments, and related trademark usage documents. Represents domestic and foreign clients through all phases of prosecuting trademark applications and post-registration actions before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office; works with foreign associates to prosecute trademark applications in Canada, Mexico, South/Central America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia on behalf of domestic clients.
