Based within the Enterprise and Regeneration team and working pan-Wales, my role include s responsibility for creative economy, skills development, digital innovation, arts broadcast partnerships, income generation and places importance on taking the ACW beyond its usual circle of influence through partnership and targeted initiatives. Partnerships secured include BBC, Nesta, S4C and The Space (BBC/ACE) which have resulted in cash and in kind commitment to a number of project and initiatives including Get Creative weekend and the Digital Innovation Fund for the Arts in Wales .

Clwstwr is an ambitious five year programme to create new products, services and experiences for screen to create a culture of innovation in South Wales. Funded as part of the UK industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. Management team of eight provide overall management and direction for Clwstwr and make key decisions.

The partnership was initially founded between WMF and Wales Arts International as a way to more effectively develop and promote the music sector internationally. This was later formalised into an company with public and private sector representation (including Cardiff Council and Live Nation) to successfully bid for and host Womex - the leading world music trade fair, expo, conference and festival - in Cardiff in 2013.

Secondment covering maternity leave. The purpose of the role is to provide leadership in helping to develop the creative economy in Cardiff. To inspire, encourage and support working relationships across the city through networking and partnership and knowledge exchange between business, government, higher education and other stakeholders. We are working with others to make Cardiff a capital of creativity.

Responsible for the day-to-day running and strategic direction of Welsh Music Foundation, the development agency for the music industry of Wales. It was core funded by the Welsh Government as part of its strategy for the creative industries. Responsible for an array of areas including: Creation of annual business plan and key performance indicators and ensuring that the aims and objectives are delivered. Monitoring and evaluating these deliverables. Management of three full time staff and additional freelancers. Liaison with Welsh Assembly Government as a revenue funded agency. Developing relationships and working partnerships with key sector organisations and bodies (including Arts Council of Wales, British Council, Association of Independent Music, Musicians’ Union, PRS Foundation), Government departments in Cardiff and Westminster and universities and think tanks. Locating additional project funding in addition to core. Managing project spends efficiently and ensuring accounts are correctly logged and submitted. Speaking and representing WMF on panels at industry events. Representing WMF and the Welsh music sector in consultations. Responding to policy changes and published reports that affect the sector. Ensuring the vision of the WMF board is realised and the board are consulted with at relevant development points. Identifying new opportunities and projects to take WMF and its work forwardProjects led on include: International trade missions, development of accredited training for the sector, research projects on key sector areas including live music liaison with county councils, establishing new office and staff management guidelines.

 Responsible for WMF information service and events across Wales. Role covered: Responsibility for the WMF information service across Wales Managed one member of staff. Responsible for the WMF resource and information library Development and delivery of events programme – at least twenty-four events per year, from educational seminars and workshops to creative ‘speed dating’ Managed all online content and delivery including a comprehensive design of the website and the monthly e-newsletters General office manager Provide support to board and manager Liaising with Stakeholder group – some 700 music enterprises and practitioners

As well as working for WMF in their North Wales office ( from 2004-06 where I was responsible for the administration,, managed all online content and delivery from north Wales including the monthly e-newsletters, managed north Wales information service, event organisation and marketing and contributed to the design and management of a database for mapping Welsh music sector) I have had various roles and experiences in music and the night time economy including, music band management and live musicpromotion, running a clubnight at a 600 capacity venue, marketing database design for same venue and freelance PR and writing for publications including Sound Nation, Fly and Kruger.
