During my tenure my role transitioned through the three phases of the hospital’s delivery. It was originally responsible for the overarching design and delivery of the Spotless programme of works for ICT systems and infrastructure. During this phase as well as the physical design of systems and infrastructure I also reviewed and certified the operations of all ICT that would impact Spotless post-handover and drove or influenced design and delivery for non-Spotless delivered solutions including Active Directory. I was also a system integration leader for interfaces between both Spotless and non-Spotless systems.This transitioned to the mobilisation of the ICT Operational services and acceptance of ICT systems being commissioned by the Project. At this point definition and setup of Spotless operational aspects were undertaken. Through this I created the Standard Operating Environments (SOE) for workstation and server infrastructure, resiliency and continuity plans, business continuity plans and service delivery definitions.The Operational phase of the role has seen the Leadership and Strategic direction for all ICT services on behalf of the Spotless contract for the Facility. Delivery of this in line with the mobilisation definitions saw the testing and realignment, where required, of the service delivery team.During the Mobilisation and Operational phases, I was also responsible for the delivery of the Facility’s Helpdesk service. This is the non-technical task and request management team which interfaces the Facility users with the Facility services. For mobilisation, this included delivering the design, structure and BCP’s for service delivery. This included mapping the systems and services at a process level and determining what reliance the Helpdesk had against not just ICT but other service lines. Once we transitioned to Operations, ongoing measuring and alignment with the contract, our operating procedures and KPIs become integral to our delivery.

This included the management of applications from inception to retirement, definition ofpolicies, creation of procedures and system support. This position included the line management ofseveral staff but was predominately a hands-on technical role.4 This role encompassed many of the activities I undertook as the Desktop Manager for Flinders MedicalCentre – before the department merged – and led to the completion and standardisation of manysystems and solutions.
