Our principle activity has been History Camp (HistoryCamp.org), which brings together people from all walks of life for a day of learning and sharing. Our History Camps have been held in Boston, the Washington, DC area, and near Denver.When COVID hit, we created weekly discussions with history authors of note; created "America's Summer Roadtrip," a one-day event that ran from 9 am to 9 pm and included tours and live interviews from historic sites across the country; and, our we created our first History Camp America, with more than 500 registered from across the country and even overseas for 30+ sessions and tours. In-person events will resume in 2022 and will include our first History Camp Weekend. Since then History Camps have been held in Boston, Des Moines (History Camp Iowa, added in 2015), Holyoke (History Camp Pioneer Valley, added in 2016), Denver (History Camp Colorado, added in 2016), and Virginia (History Camp Virginia added in 2019).History Camp is a project of the non-profit organization The Pursuit of History (ThePursuitOfHistory.org).When COVID caused us to cancel History Camp Boston in March 2020 (as well as all the rest scheduled that year and next), by April we had a weekly discussion series with history authors of note up and running.
