Summary? How does one summarize 20+ years of diverse technology experience? I think my wife summarized it best when she recommended I have a head-shot printed with the caption reading "John Tokash - Ask Around..."The monolithic Microsoft Ecosystem, large footprint datacenters, and the drive to virtualization through VMWare and then Hyper-V were a large part of what really got me going into Enterprise technology. Technically at home, it started with a Commodore 64, and then the early 8086 days. From there, the US Navy launched me into business technology, some proprietary, some not-so-much (got cc:Mail?). In the corporate world, I found a home in the Microsoft desktop and server stack, eventually expanding to VMWare virtualization, HP and IBM Storage, and a host of smaller silos. Later came the UC blitz with Lync and ultimately Skype for Business, eventually Teams and followed quickly by cloud technologies. First, it was Office365, then Azure, now they all tie together and I'm generating internal analytics in PowerBI.For the last 3 years I’ve been tied tightly to Cloud solutions, predominantly Azure, along with what most consider DevOps. A significant area for me is infrastructure operations and maintenance in Azure, whether it be flagship SaaS services designed natively for the cloud, or simply lab and R&D solutions plugged in to cloud architecture to achieve a variety of technical and business requirements.
