About Chris Lehman

Currently serving as the Deputy Director of Wastewater for the City of San Luis Obispo, on the central coast of California. Our wastewater division includes Environmental Programs (Stormwater and Pretreatment), a Wastewater Collections team, an ELAP certified Water Quality Lab, Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF), and Solid Waste & Recycling program. I am an experienced WRRF plant manager with a passion for efficient and environmentally responsible operations that are responsive to the needs of the community. Like many other agencies in California, San Luis Obispo has made long-term commitments to enhancing water quality and availability as we plan for supply pressures brought on by climate impacts and growth. I believe that we can accomplish great things through hard work, discipline, partnership, and fostering a professional environment that supports innovative thinking. My passion for water is supplemented by a strong work ethic gained from six years of service in the US Navy. I am a CWEA contributor, and frequently participate in local, state and national initiatives to further industry research and knowledge.

Listed skills include Wastewater Treatment, Water Treatment, Water Quality, Environmental Awareness, and 15 others.
