Shwmae! I’m Leigh Davies. I’m an award-winning creative producer based in Wales, UK.

As a T-shaped practitioner, I specialise in music production, composition, and sound design and I generalise in many other creative disciplines such as interactive electronics, hardware fabrication, UI & UX design, illustration, and motion graphics.

My principal focus is on exploring and developing new ways in which dynamic, generative, and non-linear soundtracks can exist beyond the pixel and outside of the screen. 

Over the last 12 years, I have developed and delivered a myriad of interactive projects and experiences working with a wide range of partners spanning the entertainment & media, arts & culture, health & wellbeing, environmental, and educational contexts.

I am currently working on:

"Playces" - a series of interactive cardboard models promoting new ways for audiences to interact and engage with dynamic music soundtracks.

"The Compendium of Somethings" - a rolling production of unconventional interactive sound and music controllers taken from my journal of lateral design concepts.

"Cymeriad" - a volume of books that present the audiovisual portraits of the people of Wales.In 2015 I cofounded pyka - a collective of producers who design and create technological artefacts, structures, and spaces that enable people to explore worlds of sound. Our participant and engagement branch - pyka_workshop - has designed and delivered creative education programmes for ages 3-25. To date, we have worked with over 250 schools and supported over 25000 learners and staff in Wales and England.

I am also lecturer in Interaction & Experience Design at the University of Gloucestershire.
