Hands on Director of a responsive team of experienced commercial catering engineers.

My Role at CEM catering equipment involved managing a small team of 5 catering engineers. I was still hands on and 'out on the tools' most days repairing and installing catering equipment.

Hayton Howard catering engineers set up in business when previous employer Mollett Catering made a fellow colleague and myself redundant after closing down its Cumbrian division. I started at Mollett Catering as a trainee catering engineer and shadowed various engineers for a month before moving on to work independently from home.I was responsible for service, installation and repair of gas and electrical commercial catering equipment within the area of Cumbria and North Lancashire. I managed my own time and spares ordering and established a good working relationship with customers and worked well as part of a small team.

I completed a three year apprenticeship whilst attending a City and Guild course in Mechanical Production Competencies at Kendal College and acquired a good knowledge of tool and precision engineering.I achieved skills in the following areas, Milling machines, lathes machines, surface grinding, spark erosion, engraving, heat treatment and arc welding. I also gained a good understanding of C.N.C Machining.
