Helped develop network acceleration software in a client-server architecture. Responsible for parsing application-layer network headers in order to perform optimizations of well-known protocols such as HTTP, DNS, FTP, SMB, etc. HTTP and DNS protocols were optimized to give satellite networks an almost broadband-like experience when web browsing.Worked closely in Agile team environment, where C++ coding standards were adhered to, and code reviews were performed rigorously.Debugged and modified software components as needed. This included investigation of network traffic. Tools such as Wireshark and program-specific instrumentation were used.Worked with common code repository programs Perforce and Git and common ticket tracking software Jira and Devtrack.

Responsible for maintaining automated test software, which was built using managed C++. Updates were made as needed to support performance and stress test suites.Responsible for writing detailed test cases for bug tickets. StarTeam was used for both code repository software and tracking tickets.Performed functional and performance testing of a network acceleration client-server application. Customers used the application over various network types including dial-up, satellite, and common cellular network types. Familiarity with setting up different network types were needed for these tests, which included shaping and troubleshooting different networks.
