● Developing Enquiry Based Learning in Phase 2 and The Curiosity Approach in Phase 1 to develop learners who are intrinsically motivated to dive deeper into their learning and think critically about the world around them. ● Strengthening the progression between, and the consistency within, year groups to create experiences which encourage mastery and greater depth within UTW and Science. ● Collaboratively working with teacing staff, assistant teachers and Heads of Year to give practitioners the tools to facilitate highly engaging, child-led, enquiry based lessons.● Working towards the Science Action Plan and the overall SDP.● Delivering high quality, practical PD sessions that move Teaching and Learning, and learners' experiences and outcomes, forward. ● Reviewing half termly data captures, performing an analysis and identifying next steps, alongside presentations to the Primary and Executive Leadership Teams, to move towards our main academic goal: improving student outcomes. ● Supporting parents and carers with their knowledge of the NCfE and how to support their child to meet their full potential ie parent workshops and curriculum evenings.

In part, this was achieved through implementing weekly Science experiences led by our qualified Lab Technician, linked to their topic of study. ● Developing a new approach to assessment (after consultation with all stakeholders within the school) and embedding this through planning support sessions, team teaching opportunities and communication through the Science working party.

Implementing a ‘conceptual’ approach to numeracy through:● Delivering in-service and twilight training to teaching and non-teaching staff to develop their knowledge and skills and ability to plan accordingly; and consider maths as an interdisciplinary subject with a focus on real life learning. ● Attending year group level meetings to support with medium and short term planning. The focus being on planning higher order questions in advance to promote critical thinking and self-discovery.● Engaging in team-teaching develop practitioners’ confidence in delivering a conceptual approach in numeracy.● Attending network-wide evaluation and development sessions to meet with other curriculum leaders/conceptual numeracy trainers to discuss best practice and reflect on my own approach.
