My current role is to develop and manage Commercial Insurance products in Suncorp’s SME Packages, Commercial Motor and Residential Strata lines of business. This has involved finding ways to balance profitable growth and retention through the product design, pricing, underwriting management, marketing, project work and integrating those elements into our IT systems. This has involved a wide experience in a variety of long- and short-tail classes including Property, Public Liability, Professional lines, Motor and Consumer products. My role involves working with Broker Groups and other industry players and regulators to support the business and practical approaches to protect our customers. It has also required constant awareness of the changing regulatory environment for Commercial Insurance and adapting our products and business to meet those new requirements.

Providing a high level of technical, operational and administrative support to the Senior Leader SME Portfolio. Develop SME Package products, pricing and wordings. Collaborate with legal, underwriting, actuarial, distribution, BT and claims areas to achieve portfolio growth and profitability. Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure that our products are relevant to our client needs, are competitive and profitable.

Reviewing, assessing and quoting new and renewal business for property and liability insurance. Providing technical and referral support to several distribution channels. Dealing with distribution channel conflict and ongoing underwriting and compliance. Undertaking analysis and review of broker arrangements through the Vero distribution channel. Experience with Package, Construction, Motor and Standalone Public & Products Liability policies.
