In grade 8, alongside two of my fellow peers, we worked to market, design and pitch an idea for a business. Our idea was to put sandwich cookies on a stick, dipping them in colourful chocolate and ultimately creating a “cookie lollipop”. We handled anything from the finance to customer service aspects in the business. Not only did we break even, but we made around $400 in profit in one day. This business was showcased at the International Business and Technology program trade show at Allan A Martin. I gained invaluable experience working with a team, under pressure, and in learning how a successful business works.
