Currently lead New Zealands first Pasifika suicide prevention programme: FLO: Pasifika for Life!FLO is a national programme that aims to build strong, resilient Pacific families and communities, address at risk groups within Pacific communities and assist those Pacific families who have been part of the impact of suicide.FLO is part of Waka Hourua - national suicide prevention programme for Maori and Pacific communities delivered by Te Rau Matatini and Le Va.FLO refers to For Life and the O symbolises our ‘flow’. Flow is the reciprocal interaction that we have in our relationships with friends, family, community and environment. Flow happens in the va - the relational space between people. Smooth flow happens when we communicate well, have strong cultural identity, connect with others, strengthen family, and find hope and courage through spirituality. Kinetic Wayfinding is a family based theatre company co-founded by Leilani Clarke and Heto Ah Hi. Established in 2013 Kinetic Wayfinding have produced theatre works such as Tautai (2013), Digital Winds (2013), The Tautai of Digital Winds (2014), Tautai - A Family’s Journey (2015), and Move (2016). They have presented at various conferences such as Le Va’s GPS: Growing Pasifika Solutions conference and delivered leadership workshops with various community groups and organisations. The company’s passion lies within the work they do which aims to develop high quality urban Pasifika theatre productions alongside effective community engagement with youth through the ‘Stages Workshop’.

The design and Implementation of the training of all Frontline staff across the country in The Fauina o le Fale Engagement Model. A model that uses the metaphor of the building of a fale (house) and draws upon traditional Pasifika cultural concepts (from a Samoan perspective) such as tofa mamao (wisdom of families and communities), va fealoaloa’i (respected space – connections and relationships) and maopoopo (unity).

The primary purpose of this position is to focus on delivering high quality learning and development courses to our frontline staff who assess offenders, manage their sentences and deliver rehabilitative programmes.Key accountabilities encompass learning and development course delivery and management across a variety of topics, contribution to the annual learning and development plan and design of new courses coupled with quality assurance, monitoring and reporting.
