• The purpose of the role as Project Manager was to engage the local community in training relevant to their needs. This work was carried-out in conjunction with MANCAT and involved devising a training programme with parental involvement, participatory practices were used to engage with the community these practices were entitled ‘Participatory Appraisal’.• The term Participatory Appraisal describes a family of approaches that enable local people to identify their own priorities and make their own decisions about the future, with the organising agency facilitating, listening and learning. • Participatory Appraisal uses visual and flexible tools to ensure that everyone can join in regardless of background. The fundamentals of this position were divided into four main sections. Organisational events/conferences management, endorsement of courses, development of the centre, and maintaining support throughout the regions training centres.
