My first passion is guiding people through transformative and educational outdoor experiences. While studying towards my B.S. at Westminster College in Social Sciences and Spanish & Latin American Studies, I worked summers river guiding and winters teaching skiing. After graduating in 2011 I took advantage of opportunities to live and work abroad in Europe building language skills, cultural competencies, and teaching expertise.I decided to return to school in 2014 to pursue my Masters of Arts in Community Psychology focusing in Program Development at the University of New Haven. As a graduate student I learned how to translate my previous experiences running educational programs into designing and evaluating them. As a graduate assistant on campus I utilized these skills through event planning and needs assessments. As an intern at Solar Youth inc. I worked in a collaborative role to design a new program for low-income teens in New Haven, CT. As the Community Engagement Coordinator at Neighborhood House, I managed the volunteer and partnership programs in addition to the community garden. At the National Ability Center, I worked in both a volunteer management role and an operations management role to provide access to outdoor recreation for people with disabilities. At the Grand Canyon Trust I manage volunteers in the protection and restoration of some of my most beloved places on the Colorado Plateau. SKILLS: Program design, implementation, and evaluation.
