Leading a team of specialists, I am responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of Sweden's strategy with Mali and Regional Africa at FBA. Thematically the main focus is on Women, Peace and Security and Peace processes, including Dialogue and mediation as well as DDR.

Stockholm, Sweden

I was responsible for quality assurance and strategic development of the organisations work to strenghten civil society in favour of children´s and young people´s rights, with a particular focus on girls and young women. The work entailed supporting programs to effectively strenghten civil society to play its intended role, as well as how to adapt and respond to the shrinking democratic space for civil society. I supported internal capacity and processes to effectively apply equitable partnership principles, for example when partnering with youth-led organsations and community based organisations. I led and coordinated a team of four regional advisors, and together we have contributed to that the issues are significantly more prioritised and strategically approached by the organisation and in programs.

Stockholm, Stockholm County, Sweden

I was the Program Manager for partnerships in West Africa (Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso, Senegal). Programs focused on child and youth rights related to participation, violence and sexual and reproductive health, with special focus on civil society strengthening and gender and inclusion. I was responsible for program development/planning and quality assurance, including monitoring and evaluation. I also contributed to mobilization of resources for new programs, for example one program was granted 5 MEUR by European Commission. Colleagues in the country offices expressed appreciation for my ability to contribute to the strategic development of existing programs, particularly related to youth, gender and inclusion.

Stockholm, Sverige

In this position I had the thematic responsibility for Youth Economic Empowerment in Plan Sweden. This mainly entailed coordination of a program start up between Plan and Accenture - a Business for Development (B4D) cooperation, starting off in Uganda. It involved program development at all different levels in cooperation with various stakeholders.

Kenya / Tanzania

Based in Nairobi, I supported programs to effectively integrate a youth perspective and participation, as well as the strategic capacity building of partner organisations in two Social Accountability programs in Kenya and Tanzania. I developed a monitoring and evaluation system for a €3M program, and conducted a situtional analysis for a new program in Zimbabwe. I also succesfully initiated the organisations work on issues of capital flight in the region, which recevied coverage in Al-Jazeera.

Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe (3 Months)

Long term field assignment within the program Tackling Poverty Together. It was a cooperation with UNDESA and a network of about 60 youth organisations in 8 countries, aiming to increase the influence and participation of young people in Poverty Reduction Strategies (PRSPs). My task was to advice on youth issues and faciliate consolidation of the network in each country as well as regionally.

Sweden

I was the Head of the Development Cooperations, consisting of 10 partnerships in almost 20 countries in total. Themes were youth rights and democracy, using organizational development and advocacy as strategies. I was responsible for PME, support to the strategic development of existing programmes as well as new program initiatives. Both the budget and the number of partnerships expanded during my responsibility. I had financial responsibility and managed a working group of four people.

Sri Lanka

Based at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo, I was employed as the Advisor in the Democratic Youth Leadership Program. I provided support and guidance mainly in planning, monitoring and evalution, as well as in organisational / leadership development. I also supported the start up of a National Umbrella of Youth Organisations in Sri Lanka, which evolved into one of Sri Lankas largest youth-led organisations.

Based in Malawi, working at the Monitoring and Evaluation department. Responsible for developing methodological materials for a program on "Gender-Based Violence, HIV / AIDS and Human Rights". Developed M&E strategies for the same project.
