My senior composition recital was one of the most challenging events, because I had to compose every piece of music, as well as: scheduling rehearsals, advertising the event through social media and posters, writing out detailed descriptions of each piece and the event, planning the party afterwards through catering, writing stage directions, and writing sound and lights directions. I had to complete all of this, and still make sure that I was friendly and personable. It was an overwhelming situation that was rewarding, because I learned to troubleshoot, and maintain professional. I feel like many of the useful event planning and communication skills I gained were through the experience of my senior performance.

Working the front desk for my schools Music Department was a wonderful experience. I was required to make phone calls, recruit musicians/ vocalists for music events, hang posters, work music events promoted through the University, create programs, schedule appointments, send emails, and interact and answer questions for people who walked in. This job required me to be punctual, organized, friendly, and proactive. Also, I was able to be my quirky, upbeat self and felt accepted, which was really refreshing, and an atmosphere I strive to create in the workspaces I have.
