Hello, my name is Leo Williams and I am a recent graduate of California Institute of Technology with a bachelor's in Bioengineering. In August, I will pursue a PhD in Biological Engineering at MIT. I have experience conducting research in multiple laboratories. I examined COVID-19 statistics and performed regression analyses with the department of mathematics at Lawrence Technological University. I utilized multiple mutagenesis methods in an attempt to engineer an enzyme to treat MPS IIIC. In the summer of 2022, I designed a variant of a fluorescence based Mycobacterium tuberculosis death reporter which doubled the signal to noise ratio. For this work, I won an ABRCMS Presentation Award in Immunology.
