About Leo Au

Leo commences his hospitality career with The Peninsula Hong Kong as a bartender, and soon discovered his interest in wine. He cultivated his interest and expertise under the guidance of Bhatia Dheeraj, rising to the position of Sommelier and Assistant Beverage Manager before joining Swire Hotels in 2014.When he isn’t inspiring guests and training a team of wine enthusiasts, he is travelling the globe. His passion for wine and dedication to his skill has taken him from Bordeaux and Verona to The Napa and Barossa Valley, visiting some the world’s most renowned vineyards, participating in harvests and representing Hong Kong at global competitions. He was one of the ten finalists in Sud de France Sommelier Challenge in 2016 and received a Scholarship of Barossa Master by The Barossa Wine School in 2017. In 2018, Leo crowned Winner of Ruinart Sommeliers Challenge (Hong Kong).Leo continues to expand his knowledge in wine appreciation and holds a WSET Diploma (DipWSET) in Wines and Spirits, receiving excellent results for his Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) and Certified Specialist of Spirits (CSS) from The Society of Wine Educators. He is recognised as an Advanced Sommelier and has received acclaim from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
