Non-profit founder, web developer, computational neuroscience.Yes, those are a lot of buzz words. Here's my experience with each of them.👇🔺Non-profit founderI launched my own non-profit venture in June 2021 called 'Quarantined Chefs' (www.quarantinedchefs.in), a platform for home-based chefs to showcase their business amidst the pandemic. I solely developed, marketed and deployed the platform which was able to touch 300+ hyperlocal users in 4 days. This platform was awarded at multiple idea competitions and was felicitated by Don Bosco College of Engineering in 2022.🔺Web developmentI have 2+ years of experience in building full stack web applications with multiple tech stacks including Next js, MERN, Flask (python) coupled with modern databases such as Postgresql and MongoDB. My emphasis has been on a great UI coupled with speed. I am able to deliver a production ready platform. This includes UI design, API development, database creation and final deployment.🔺 Computational NeuroscienceI spent little over a year working in the domain of computational neuroscience under the guidance of Dr. Basabdatta S Bhattacharya as part of the Brain Inspired Neural Networks Lab, BITS-Goa. For my final year project I worked with cutting edge tools, foraging a unique blend of ML and neuroscience towards the simulation of neuropathology in schizophrenia. Outside of tech, I am curious about the world of finance and business development. In 2021 I was awarded the 1st place for a state-wide business plan contest, where I drew up a detailed plan and defended it to a jury of industry professionals.All projects and experience have been showcased on my portfolio website.leo-barros.github.io
