During my 3 month internship, I successfully designed, built and tested an automated tool that allows the user to perform complex Finite Element simulations of subsea pipe bend collapse models. The tool greatly reduced the model creation time by replacing manual user input with automated scripting, thus also reducing simulation errors and complexity. Having minimal experience in the oil and gas industry, I gained a large amount of knowledge and experience on my placement, in a relatively small amount of time. I not only learnt about subsea pipeline engineering, but also improved my coding skills in both VBA and python languages, as well as becoming confident in a new Finite Element Software; Abaqus FEA.

Lockheed Martin Uk Integrated Systems, Havant

Working primarily in Certification and Airworthiness, I gained knowledge of military airworthiness standards and procedures, systems engineering, management and project capture. I was fortunate enough to support and present in the MAA audit on Lockheed Martin during my internship, as well as taking on the responsibility of managing and tracking programme status of a major engineering programme. I also developed my coding knowledge in VBA and SQL.
