Sullivan County was my first beat with the Times Herald-Record. Then I covered the City of Newburgh and the Town of Newburgh.

A summer multimedia project funded by the Carnegie Corporation and the Knight Foundation. I traveled to northwest Arkansas to report on the state's growing Latino population, did some computer-assisted reporting using SPSS software and Excel, and shot/edited photos and video. Capital News Service is part of the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland-College Park. I worked in the D.C. bureau, covering the business and transportation beats on Capitol Hill. I also covered President Obama's inauguration.

Completed a two-week embed assignment in Iraq; covered Maryland and Baltimore City governments, crime, education and social issues; shot digital photographs; hosted newspaper’s weekly radio show; edited copy; rewrote copy; created headlines and cutlines; proofed page layouts.

Published The Visionary, a 16-page bimonthly advocacy newspaper centered on substance abuse and homelessness; created story budget for each issue; wrote for and edited the newspaper; composed the layout; shot photographs.
