• At Darwin Middle School my role was to act as a role model and mentor to 54 Indigenous students in a school of 600 students. I was responsible for working with the students, staff, school community members and.
• To provide a caring and supportive environment and liaise with parents to ensure Indigenous students’ enrolment and attendance.
• To work in partnership with classroom teachers to provide support for individual and small groups of Indigenous students to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes.
• To support the school leadership team to access appropriate networks (including government and Indigenous organisations) to develop a harmonious and culturally inclusive environment.
