This document was distributed to the members of M&G’s board.• Responsible for selecting M&G’s first Unix platform for two highly business critical applications. This was achieved in approximately 6 weeks from a position of virtually no knowledge of Unix.• Played a crucial role in the successful deployment of the first, highly business critical, applications to run on the new Unix platform• Reviewed and selected appropriate systems management tools to monitor and manage their new Unix infrastructure• Successfully Project Managed or Co-ordinated a number of projects within the IT Services Department including; Batch Containment, File Transfer, Single Logon and Password and Input/Output improvements.• Collected and analysed performance data using MICS and MXG, produced analytical models using Best/1 and performed many application tuning exercises on M&G's key financial applications.• Developed and implemented an application modelling strategy at M&G which ensured that all new applications were sized prior to implementation.
